So on Valentines I am used to being the cynical person that mocks the holiday of love since I usually didn't have anyone to share it with. While I still laughed at BYU campus's sudden infestation of men in suits carrying bouquets of roses, I really have enjoyed Valentines the past two years. Last year Jeff and I were new to the world of being boyfriend/girlfriend, and I didn't really know what to expect when Valentines Day came around. We spent the day before Valentines walking down the streets of Provo mocking all the hearts and Valentines advertisements and then we went home and watched a basketball game. Needless to say I didn't expect to get anything for Valentines, but he surprised me with a bouquet of my favorite flowers that lasted over a month because my apartment was so cold.
This year we got to have a prolonged Valentines Day. I was scheduled to work on actual Valentines Day from 7-11 that night which basically ruined any plans. So we kind of celebrated Saturday, but Provo was an absolute mad-house. We had a great time regardless. However on Monday I got a call from someone at work asking to trade me and take my Valentines shift...crazy. So we got to celebrate again, and I came home to flowers and a huge heart of starbursts :). I love my husband he is so sweet. We still just hang out like we're best friends, and I still cant wait to see him whenever I go home. So all in all it was a very happy Valentines Weekend!
